RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of La Habra Inn Senior Apartments in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
On May 15, 2024, Ms. Heather Shim filed a property damage claim on behalf of the La Habra Inn Senior Apartments for an unspecified amount to repair the pavement in the parking lot of the apartment complex located at 700 North Beach Boulevard. The claim alleges that from April 10, 2024, through April 19, 2024, heavy construction vehicles and equipment utilized by a contractor hired by the City of La Habra to perform alley improvements behind the property caused damage to the parking lot. The claim was tendered to the City's contractor conducting an alley improvement project at the location.
