| SUBJECT: | APPROVE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE RUSSELL STREET STORM DRAIN IMPROVEMENT FROM VALLEY HOME AVENUE TO ROANOKE STREET, CITY PROJECT NO. 3-D-19 |
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the Notice of Completion for the Russell Street Storm Drain Improvement from Valley Home Avenue to Roanoke Street, City Project No. 3-D-19, and authorize staff to submit the Notice of Completion for recordation.
DISCUSSION:
On April 20, 2020, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Precision Pipeline, Inc., of Santa Fe Springs, California, in the amount of $130,787, which included a 10 percent contingency for the construction of the Russell Street Storm Drain Improvement from Valley Home Avenue to Roanoke Street, City Project No. 3-D-19.
The Project consisted of replacing approximately 450 linear feet of existing 36” corrugated metal storm drain pipe with 42” high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe, installation of a manhole, and pavement rehabilitation of the trench on Russell Street from Valley Home Avenue to Roanoke Street.
All improvements associated with the above-mentioned Project have been completed. Staff conducted a final inspection and found the work to be satisfactory and in compliance with all applicable plans, specifications, and standards. Upon acceptance of the Project by the City Council, staff will file a Notice of Completion for recordation at the County Recorder’s Office. A copy of the Notice of Completion is included as Attachment 1.

FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:
The final cost of construction for the Project is $124,398, which is approximately five percent below the approved purchase order amount of $130,787. There are sufficient budgeted funds to cover the cost of the Project.
