APPROVE THE LA HABRA HOUSING AUTHORITY ANNUAL REPORT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2023-2024 PURSUANT TO HEALTH AND SAFETY CODE SECTION 34328 AND 34328.1 FOR SUBMITTAL TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT

RECOMMENDATION:


That the Housing Authority approve the La Habra Housing Authority Report for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 34328 and 34328.1 for submittal to the State Department of Housing and Community Development.

DISCUSSION:

Health and Safety Code Section 34328 and 34328.1 requires housing authorities in the State of California to file an annual report with the State of California Department of Housing and Community Development by October 1st of each year.  The report includes the activities conducted by those authorities during the prior fiscal year.  The requirements of the report include identification of housing assets owned by the housing authority and ongoing monitoring of assisted affordable housing units.

The attached annual report for the La Habra Housing Authority (Housing Authority) for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 includes the following:
  • List of properties owned by the Housing Authority;
  • List of affordable housing monitored by the Housing Authority;
  • Rental Housing;
  • Homeownership developments;
  • Rehabilitation financing;
  • Multi-units;
  • Recipients of Federal Rent Subsidies;
  • Units financed with bonds;
  • Termination of tenancies; and
  • Increased income of occupants
Staff recommends that the Housing Authority Board approve the Housing Authority Annual Report for Fiscal Year 2023-2024 pursuant to Health and Safety Code Sections 34328 and 34328.1 for submittal to the State of California Department of Housing and Community Development.

FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:

There is no fiscal impact.
