| SUBJECT: | APPROVE AND ACCEPT THE PASSFIRE BURN PAN FROM THE COUNTY OF ORANGE THROUGH THE FISCAL YEAR 2022 HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve and accept the PassFire Burn Pan equipment awarded to the La Habra Police Department through the Fiscal Year 2022 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP); and authorize the City Manager to execute the Transfer Agreement and all documents necessary to accept the equipment.
DISCUSSION:
The La Habra Police Department has been approved to receive a PassFire Burn Pan under the Fiscal Year 2022 Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP), administered by the California Office of Emergency Services and coordinated through the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. The Homeland Security Grant Program provides federal funding to enhance local emergency preparedness and response capabilities. The PassFire Burn Pan is a fire extinguisher training tool used during CERT basic training classes to teach the proper use of a fire extinguisher. The City of La Habra will be responsible for ensuring the equipment remains operational and used for grant-compliant purposes throughout its service life. The agreement ensures the equipment will be made available for mutual aid and regional emergency response coordination and training.
FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:
There is no fiscal impact to accept the equipment.
