SUBJECT:	APPROVE DENIAL OF LIABILITY CLAIM OF SAMUEL GARCIA

RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Council deny the claim of Samuel Garcia in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.

DISCUSSION:

Samuel Garcia, a City of La Habra resident, filed a claim against the City on January 6, 2026, in the amount of $4,629.16. The claim alleges that on December 22, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., the claimant’s car was parked on Portola Street when it was struck by a garbage truck, causing damage to the rear and left side of the car. Mr. Garcia was provided information to file his claim directly with CR&R Environmental Services, Inc.
