Mr. Patrick Puente, a City of Whittier resident, filed a claim against the City of La Habra on March 31, 2026, for an unspecified amount. The claim states that on June 26, 2025, the claimant was involved in a traffic collision with a Whittier Police vehicle at the intersection of Cypress Street and Grace Avenue. The claim was both untimely and insufficient. The claim was returned as insufficient and the claimant failed to correct the errors within the legal time limits. Moreover, the claim is misfiled as the alleged vehicle involved in this accident belongs to the City of Whittier Police Department, and is not under the City of La Habra's jurisdiction.
