That the City Council approve and authorize the City Manager to execute the agreement with California State University, Fullerton (CSUF), which would allow CSUF students to complete their practicum in support of Community Services Department programs at the City of La Habra for a three-year term. 

The City of La Habra's Community Services Department has partnered with CSUF to be one of the programs its students may select as their practicum necessary to graduate.  CSUF students benefit from this relationship because they satisfy requirements to graduate as well as gain experience in working in a child development program. The City benefits from the relationship by mentoring students who can assist staff with child development operations and who may seek future employment with the City working in the Child Development program.  A central goal of the program is for prospective child development students to gain practical experience working with children ages 0-5 years old.

Any CSUF students who wish to continue or complete their practicum with the City will be required to abide by all City of La Habra employment policies and their work activity will be monitored by both City staff and CSUF administration.

There is no cost to the City for participating in this program with CSUF.
