| SUBJECT: | APPROVE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR THE ANNUAL SIDEWALK AND CURB ACCESS RAMP IMPROVEMENT FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020, PROJECT NO. 6-R-19 |
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the Notice of Completion for the Annual Sidewalk and Curb Access Ramp Improvements for Fiscal Year 2019-2020, Project No. 6-R-19; and authorize staff to send for recordation.
DISCUSSION:
On December 21, 2020, the City Council awarded a construction contract to CJ Concrete Construction, Inc., of Santa Fe Springs, California, in the amount of $264,409.20, which included a 10 percent contingency for the construction of the Annual Sidewalk and Curb Access Ramp Improvements Fiscal Year 2019-2020, Project No. 6-R-19.
The Project included removal and construction of PCC sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and driveways in various locations throughout the City of La Habra. The project was scheduled to include improvements at 129 locations throughout the City; however, staff was able to include an additional 17 locations, bringing the total to 146 locations, while still staying under budget.
All improvements associated with the above-mentioned project have been completed. Staff conducted a final inspection and found the work to comply with the plans, specifications, and standards of the City of La Habra. Upon acceptance of the project by the City Council, staff will file a Notice of Completion for recordation at the County Recorder’s Office. A copy of the Notice of Completion is included as Attachment 1. Before and after pictures of selected locations are included as Attachment 2.

FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:
The final cost of construction for the Project is $261,052.10, which is one percent under the approved purchase order amount of $264,409.20. There are sufficient budgeted funds to cover the cost of the Project.
