That the City Council:
A. Approve to accept the offer of a dedication of an additional right-of-way at 618 East Erna Avenue; and

B. Approve and authorize the recordation of the Grant Deed with the County of Orange.

The owner of the single-family residential property at 618 East Erna Avenue is making upgrades to the property, including the conversion of an existing garage to an accessory dwelling unit. The project will require the dedication of 2.5 feet of right-of-way along the existing 15-foot-wide alley adjacent to the property to the City of La Habra.  If this dedication is approved by City Council, this City will own 17.5 feet of right-of-way width at this location.  The City's long term goal is to secure an additional 2.5 feet of right-of-way in the future to provide the required maximum right-of-way width of 20 feet for this alley. 

There is a future cost for the City to accept the dedication of additional right-of-way; however it would consist of marginal additional cost to maintain asphalt.  Once dedicated to the City, the asphalt pavement would have a service life of approximately 20 years.
