| SUBJECT: | CONSIDER AND APPOINT ONE CITY COUNCILMEMBER TO SERVE AS CHAIR FOR THE CIVIC IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY AND ONE CITY COUNCILMEMBER TO SERVE ON THE INTERNAL AUDIT COMMITTEE

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council consider and appoint:
A. One City Councilmember to serve as Chair of the La Habra Civic Improvement Authority for a term expiring December 2022; and,
B. One City Councilmember to serve on the Internal Audit Committee for a term expiring December 2022.
DISCUSSION:
On December 21, 2021, former City Councilmember Tim Shaw resigned from the City Council and, on February 10, 2022, the City Council appointed Daren Nigsarian to fill the vacant City Council position. Due to the unscheduled City Council vacancy, the appointed positions of Chair of the La Habra Civic Improvement Authority and a City Councilmember representative on the Internal Audit Committee, which had been held by former City Councilmember Shaw, also became vacant.
Staff requests that the City Council consider and appoint one City Councilmember to fill the position of Chair of the Civic Improvement Authority and one City Councilmember to fill a vacancy on the City's Internal Audit Committee, with both terms expiring in December 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:
None. The Civic Improvement Authority and Internal Audit Committee positions do not receive a stipend.
