APPROVE DENIAL OF LIABILITY CLAIM OF FEDERICO VARGAS FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE

RECOMMENDATION:


That the City Council deny the claim of Federico Vargas in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.

DISCUSSION:

Mr. Federico Vargas, a City of La Habra resident, filed a property damage claim on June 9, 2021, in the amount of $1,000 for damage to three doors, locks, a window and a curtain at his residence located at 1910 East Francis Avenue.  The claim alleges that the La Habra Police Department caused the damage when officers forced entry into the property while serving a search warrant.
