AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SAFETY/SERVICE DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF 10 (TEN) L3 HARRIS RADIOS THROUGH THE STATE OF OHIO COOPERATIVE PURCHASING PROGRAM WITHOUT BID, PURSUANT TO OHIO REVISED CODE SECTION 125.04, NOT TO EXCEED FORTY SIX THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED FORTY SIX DOLLARS ($46,466.00) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND

Whereas, Lorain City Council passed Ordinance 136-25 on October 20, 2025, authorizing    the purchase of 11 new police vehicles with all emergency equipment installed; and
Whereas, the purchase of ten (10) L3 Harris radios were inadvertently left out of the technology purchase for the vehicles; and
Whereas, Cleveland Communications Inc. is the State Purchasing vendor the the Lorain Police Department contracts with the provide radio technology.
Whereas, no additional funds are needed as provided in Ordinance 136-25.

RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL:

Consider for passage.
