The City of Lorain has advertised a request for qualification as required by the Ohio Revised Code section 153.67. The firms have been properly rated and ranked. The City of Lorain has secured federal funding through the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to cover 90% of eligible construction costs, up to a maximum of $57,632.00. The project has encountered additional scope and will require additional hours of inspection accounting for an increase in cost of $43,126, which exceeds the current contract, ODOT has agreed to pay 90% of this increase meaning only 10% ($4,312.60) of the additional construction administration costs must now be funded by the City of Lorain, total cost not to exceed $100,758. The professional agreement which is the subject of this ordinance will be prepared by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) upon its receipt of an ordinance approved by Lorain City Council authorizing the Director of Public Safety/Service to enter into the agreement.
