AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION OR LEGISLATION TITLE:
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SAFETY/SERVICE DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE LONGFELLOW SKATEPARK PROJECT IN THE CITY OF LORAIN AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND:
The City of Lorain is investing in Longfellow Park with the construction of a new skatepark. The City received bids for the project, and the lowest and best bidder was Slip in Concrete, LLC. The project is tentatively scheduled for completion by the end of October and has received strong community support and engagement.
RECOMMENDATION TO COUNCIL:
Waive the three reading rule and consider for passage.
