AGENDA ITEM DESCRIPTION OR LEGISLATION TITLE:
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SAFETY/SERVICE DIRECTOR TO APPLY, ACCEPT, AND ENTER INTO A WATER SUPPLY REVOLVING LOAN ACCOUNT (WSRLA) AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF LORAIN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT YEAR 2 PROJECT.
PURPOSE AND BACKGROUND:
WHEREAS, the City of Lorain intends to apply for a WSRLA for the construction of water infrastructure throughout the City of Lorain; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lorain has previously determined that the existing water mains in portions of the City are in need of replacement to resolve water quality issues and decrease unexpected maintenance and repair; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lorain has completed design work for water mains and associated infrastructure with an engineering consultant; and
WHEREAS, the WSRLA requires the government authority to pass legislation for application of a loan and execution of an agreement as well as designating a dedicated repayment source.
