Motion approving allocations for 2025 Special Event Support Grants and Community Grants.
Recommendation/Action(s):
Motion approving 2025 allocations.
Summary:
The Special Event Support Grant was established to assist community not-for-profit organizations initiate and develop events with the intent of providing funding that will help create strong, healthy events, and help with the maintenance of traditional events. For 2025, three grant applications were submitted and reviewed by a grant panel consisting of Council and staff representatives. The grant panel recommended a funding level of $6,000 (budgeted $7,500). Attached is a matrix of the requests.
The Community Grant Program is an open process of soliciting grant requests from individuals and nonprofit organizations on a community level. Grant requests are annually submitted within the following categories: Community Performing Arts & Music, Community Beautification & Public Art, and Community Social Services. For 2025, the requests totaled $41,406. Applications were reviewed by a grant panel consisting of Council and staff representatives. The grant panel recommends a funding level of $16,500 (budgeted at $15,000, plus $1,500 left from Special Event Support Grants). Attached is a matrix of the requests.
