Report on project and Change Order 1 for Capital Improvement Project 11120; Woodshire Drive Reconstruction Project.

Summary:
In accordance with Section 2-8 of the Mankato City Code, the City Manager is to report as soon as practicable on change orders approved under $100,000. The following is a summary of change orders to date for 11120 – Woodshire Reconstruction Project.
Woodshire Drive
The contractor has completed the installation of the new underground utilities, the concrete curb and gutter, and the base lift of bituminous pavement for the hill portion of Woodshire Drive off Madison Avenue. The contractor is currently working on the new underground utilities within Woodshire Drive on top of the hill.
Change Order 1
During utility construction on Woodshire Drive, the existing water service for the Boy Scouts property at 810 Madison Avenue was discovered to be 1.5-inches in diameter and required replacement. The bidding documents assumed a 6-inch water service to the described property based on available records. The contractor furnished and installed a new 1.5-inch PVC water service for the portion underneath the roadway along with a new 1.5-inch curb stop as directed by the Engineer in the field. The value of the work is $3,787.92.
Maple Lane
According to the contractor’s schedule, Maple Lane is scheduled to be completed last. The proposed work for this 150-ft section of city street includes new underground utilities, new mountable concrete curb and gutter, and bituminous pavement matching the existing roadway width.
The original contract value was $1,322,565.97 with total change orders to date of $3,787.92. The current contract value is $1,326,353.89. The additional contract value is proposed to come from a contingency budgeted for the project.
Woodshire Drive
The contractor has completed the installation of the new underground utilities, the concrete curb and gutter, and the base lift of bituminous pavement for the hill portion of Woodshire Drive off Madison Avenue. The contractor is currently working on the new underground utilities within Woodshire Drive on top of the hill.
