Motion approving change order 3.
Summary:
In accordance with Section 2-8 of the Mankato City Code, the City Manager is to report as soon as practicable on change orders approved under $100,000. The following is a summary of change orders to date for Improvement Project 11188; Bassett Drive Extension (BCA) Project.
The City Council previously approved Change Orders 1 and 2 as part of the regular meeting on October 14. Since that meeting, the contractor has achieved substantial completion of the new underground utilities and roadway. The roadway extension of Bassett Drive will remain as an aggregate surface for the duration of the winter season and will serve as construction and emergency access for the BCA project site. The roadway will be closed to the public and the contractor will be responsible for all maintenance and snow removal until final completion next summer 2026.
As part of the achievement of substantial completion, the following change order was identified.
Change Order 3
The Engineer, in association with the contract extension to allow for completion of the final roadway surfacing and permanent turf restoration in 2026, has determined that temporary stabilization of the construction limits will be required to comply with the project Construction Stormwater Pollution and Prevention Permit (SWPPP). This work was directed to be completed as a requirement of substantial completion. The value
of the work is $4,500.00 and 100% of all costs associated with this change will be paid for by the State of Minnesota.
