Report on project and Change Order 3 for Capital Improvement Project 10990; 2023 Sidewalks Project.

Summary:
In accordance with Mankato City Code Sec. 2-8, the City Manager is to report as soon as practicable on change orders approved under $100,000. The following is a summary of change orders to date for 10990; 2023 Sidewalks Project.
All construction work is complete, and as part of the final contract closeout process, it was identified that there was an outstanding change order for the project that was identified is as follows:
Change Order 3: During construction, it was identified that an existing water service curb stop box along North 5th Street was damaged by others before construction started. The engineer directed the contractor to make the necessary repairs prior to constructing the new sidewalk at this location. Additionally, it was identified that damaged turf adjacent to the new sidewalk on Highland Avenue was required to be repaired. The engineer determined the damage was outside the contractor’s control and directed the repair work to be completed.
The value of this change order is $2,256.00 and the total amount of change orders to date is $10,456.00. Previous change orders 1 and 2 were reported to council on March 25, 2024.
The final contract total is $183,493.77 and is less than the total project budget of $210,302.79.
