Set March 23, 2026, as the date of the public hearing to review a vacation of a portion of Lind Street. The property is located between Blocks 8 & 9, Columbia Park Addition (adjacent to 8th Avenue); by request of Brett Skilbred.
Recommendation/Action(s):
At the February 25, 2026, meeting, the Planning Commission recommended the City Council set March 23, 2026, as the date of hearing to adopt a resolution vacating the portion of Lind Street.
Summary:
Brett Skilbred is requesting to set March 23, 2026, as the date of hearing to review the vacation the portion of Lind Street described as: All that part of Lind Street located west of Eighth Avenue and between Block 8 & 9, Columbia Park Addition. Bolton & Menk, on behalf of the applicant, prepared an exhibit and legal description of the proposed right-of-way vacation area.
The request proposes to vacate a portion of the Lind Street right-of-way (ROW) for the purpose of constructing twin-homes within the eastern portion of the vacation area. Without vacation of the subject portion of Lind Street, the applicant would not be able to develop the property as intended. The vacation area is the westernmost extent of Lind Street that was never improved as a public roadway nor ever utilized for public utilities or any other typical use of public right-of-way.
