Resolution indicating the City of Mankato's support for the Highway 169 Revitalization Project Visual Quality Management Plan and Intent to Cost Participate for certain improvements on Trunk Highway 169.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) proposes to make improvements on a portion of T.H. 169 in Mankato and North Mankato as part of State Project 5212-42 and State Project 0713-81 in 2027 and 2028. As part of this work, a community committee participated in creating a Hwy 169 Revitalization Project Visual Quality Management Plan in cooperation with both cities. MnDOT is now requesting the city to formally indicate its support for the Hwy 169 Revitalization Project Visual Quality Management Plan and that the city will participate by sharing in construction costs. The costs are estimated at $300,000 for the landscaping and visual enhancement in the project. Both North Mankato and Mankato will have the same local share toward this part of the project. MnDOT, in accordance with their policies, also has a share of the costs.
