Resolution authorizing the acceptance of funds from the Spark Good Local Partnership grant program.

Adoption of the attached resolution.
Summary:
The Mankato Department of Public Safety has been awarded $1,500 through the Spark Good Local Partnership Grant program. The grant supports the Department’s partnership with Mankato Walmart in funding the annual Shop with a Hero event held each December.
Shop with a Hero provides an opportunity for local youth to build positive relationships with public safety personnel while receiving assistance during the holiday season. The program has been supported through previously authorized grant awards and continues to provide a meaningful community engagement opportunity.
Staff recommend that the City Council authorize acceptance of the $1,500 Spark Good Local Partnership Grant funds to continue supporting the Shop with a Hero program.
