Report on Change Order 2 for Capital Improvement Project 11100; Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center Arena Audio System Improvements.

Summary:
In accordance with Section 2-8 of the Mankato City Code, the City Manager is to report as soon as practicable on change orders approved under $100,000. The following is a summary of change orders to date for 11100 – Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center Arena Audiovisual System Improvements.
Construction began on the project the week of June 26, 2026, and is now complete.
Change Order No. 1
The change order scope of work was to expedite the installation schedule to potentially accommodate a youth hockey event starting on July 20, 2026. The decision was made by staff not to proceed with that event and change order 1 was never executed.
Change Order No. 2
The change order scope of work was to relocate (2) speaker array frames located on the south end of the Arena. They were installed by Stafford Installations, according to the design drawings. After further review of the installation location after the speakers were attached to the array, it was determined the safety net on the south end of the Arena was impacted. The arrays had to be shifted, to accommodate the safety netting.
Total cost for Change Order No. 2 was an increase of $2,100, roughly less than 1% of total project cost.
The original project budget was $673,381.00; the total cost after change order 2 is $667,908.46 and within the original project budget.
