Report on Change Order 1 for Capital Improvement Project 10839; Public Works Center Welding Bay Exhaust and Tool Replacement.

Summary:
In accordance with Section 2-8 of the Mankato City Code, the City Manager is to report as soon as practicable on change orders approved under $100,000. The following is a summary of change orders to date for 10839 – Public Works Center Welding Bay Exhaust and Tool Replacement.
Construction began on the project the week of June 1, 2026, and is now complete.
Change Order No. 1
The change order scope of work was to add light above the new band saw, replacing the existing arm and extension cord rotating arm, adding a safety rail to the roof to meet OSHA safety standards, moving service lines to accommodate equipment installations, moving the PRV roof opening, a new PRV roof curb, replacing existing PRV’s not in scope but tied to project and all associated electrical work needed. Also included, deductions for returned unused exhaust equipment.
Total cost for Change Order No. 1 was an increase of $15,175.00, roughly 9% of the total project cost. The change order also included a deduction of $10,885 for returned exhaust arm equipment that was unneeded.
The original project budget of the total project was $265,000.00.
