Resolution considering bids on Capital Improvement Project 11231; Tourtellotte Pickleball Court Reconstruction.
Recommendation/Action(s):
Adoption of the attached resolution.
Summary:
On September 3, 2026 bids were opened on Capital Improvement Project 11231; Tourtellotte Pickleball Court Reconstruction. Four bids were received, with the low bid submitted by Nielsen Blacktopping & Concrete, Inc. of $452,899.70 for the Base Bid and $94,156.00 for Alternate 1.
It is recommended that the Base Bid and Alternate 1 be awarded for a combined total of $547,055.70, which is less than the Engineer’s Estimate of $572,279.50 for the Base Bid only. Alternate 1 consists of constructing four shade structures.
Staff recommends awarding the construction contract for Capital Improvement Project 11231; Tourtellotte Pickleball Court Reconstruction to Nielsen Blacktopping & Concrete, Inc. The contract has a substantial completion date of June 30, 2027. This is the date in which the owner is expected to start using the courts.
The type of work expected in the 2026 construction season includes erosion control, earthwork, drainage, fence posts, aggregate base, and some concrete pavement.
