Resolution approving donation agreement and accepting the donation of Real Property, Blue Earth County PID R01.09.16.451.015.
Recommendation/Action(s):
Adoption of the attached resolution.
Summary:
The Diamond Creek Homes Association is the owner of the property located adjacent to Hoffman Road in the City of Mankato, described as Outlot C, Diamond Creek Homes, according to the recorded plat thereof, County of Blue Earth, State of Minnesota (Parcel ID R01.09.16.451.015). The parcel consists of significant tree cover and an existing ditch drainage system. This existing drainage ditch runs the entire length of the subject parcel and on each end is contained within property owned by the City of Mankato.
The 3.60-acre parcel lacks utility service, roadway access, and falls within the Shoreland District. Once the deed is recorded, the intent would be to leave the parcel as a natural space under city responsibility like the surrounding city-owned parcel. Staff have reviewed the proposed donation and recommend that it be accepted.
No property taxes or special assessments are due on the property. The city attorney was consulted to complete due diligence on the property and assisted with the preparation of the attached donation agreement.
