The request is to update the City Code pertaining to permitted cannabis uses in the industrial zoning districts.
Review
On November 25, 2024, the City of Mankato City Council adopted zoning standards to determine which zoning districts cannabis-related businesses are allowed to operate. With implementation of the ordinance, minor clarifications and updates are necessary for accurate implementation.
As proposed, this amendment clarifies the intent of the 2024 adoption. Specifically, manufacturing, processing, testing, and transportation are proposed to be included as permitted use in the M-1, Light Industrial, and the M-2, Heavy Industrial, zoning districts.
