Update on Capital Improvement Project 11072; Augusta Drive and Highway 22 Roundabout and motion approving change order number 6.

Motion approving change order number 6.

Construction of the Augusta Drive and Highway 22 roundabout and eastbound Highway 14 bridge repair project began on July 29. All underground utility construction and road base work is complete and concrete curb and gutter and concrete pavement work began on September 9 and will continue through September 20. Work on the Highway 14 bridge beam continues, the new beam is installed, and bridge deck work is ongoing. The estimated bridge repair completion is between September 23 and October 7. Intermediate completion of the roundabout is October 2 with final completion on October 31. Northbound Highway 22 will open on Victory Drive on September 20.

Change order number 6 is related to two sanitary sewer manholes (one on the east side and one on the west side) on Augusta Drive in the project area that require repair due to concrete corrosion. These two manholes are downstream of the airport forcemain connection to the gravity sewer main and deferring this work until after the completion of the project is not feasible due to the required traffic control and the opportunity to complete it near the end of the project to benefit the public from having to endure another detour while the work is completed. Cost: $48,363.84.
