Review Recreation Sponsorships

Summary:
At the April 1 Council Work Session, staff presented sponsorship data, gathered by website collection, online surveys and phone surveys. This data was collected with the goal of guiding decision-making for sponsorships on park facilities around the City. From this collection we determined that sponsorships in other cities are being sold in many different ways, including sold by their city staff, sold by outside organizations and refusing to sell sponsorships. After this presentation, staff were asked to come back in the future with a recommendation.
Since that time, staff have worked to determine what options are available and what would be best for our system, especially considering existing sponsorships on the recreational spaces. Staff put together three varying options based on the demand and existing circumstances of sponsorships in the parks. Staff are seeking a consensus on this policy recommendation to move forward with many of the association contract renewals in 2025. Staff have assembled a brief presentation that will be provided at the meeting.
