Brett Skilbred, on behalf of the owner, Grace Baptist Church, is requesting the vacation of a portion of Lind Street between 6th and 7th Avenue and for the vacation of a portion of an alley located in Block 6, Columbia Park subdivision. Plans provided with the submission show the proposed vacation of Lind Street, and include a notation for a new entrance driveway located to the south of the current street on 6th Avenue. A new "Alley ROW" having a 30-foot radius, which connects to the existing alley, is shown to 6th Avenue. A "future entrance driveway" is also shown on 7th Avenue.
The information provided with the application packet states the reasons for vacating the street are as follows:

4. To help control the alley traffic that often cuts across our off-street parking lot.
5. To create better and safer off-street parking on the south side of our building with the money that would have been paid to the city for Lind Street improvement.
