Resolution authorizing a MnDOT Grant Agreement to replace Unit #81 Airport Service/Plow Truck.
Recommendation/Action(s):
Recommend approval of attached resolution.
Summary:
The Council approved the application for the MnDOT 2025 Aeronautics Equipment Grant for replacement of the Airport Service / Plow Truck Unit # 81 on December 9, 2024. MnDOT announced on February 4, 2025, that Mankato Airport was selected to receive a State Grant Offer of up to $82,254.00.
The current Airport Service / Plow Truck Unit 81 is a 2012 model year with over 130,000 miles. System service records reflect spending of over $28,500 on parts and labor maintaining this piece of equipment which was purchased new.
The Airport Service / Plow Truck is used as the piece of equipment that carries tools and equipment for daily inspections; airfield light repairs and sign repairs; hanger repairs; Foreign Object Damage (FOD) removal; fence inspection and repair; snow and ice control; Field Condition (FICON) testing of the runways, taxiways, and ramps; and a daily mode of transportation for the Airport Maintenance Supervisor in and around the airport.
