Motion approving Change Order No. 1 to the 2024 Tree Trimming and Removal Contract.

Motion approving change order.
Summary:
Staff recommend extending the length by one additional year and specifying prices for the 2025 tree trimming areas of the 2024 Tree Trimming and Removal Contract. This contract covers all tree trimming and removal services in city parks, boulevards, open-spaces, and on city-owned properties for the City of Mankato. The contract originated on February 12, 2024. This change will extend the substantial completion date of the contract from December 1, 2024, to December 1, 2025.
The original contract price for this contract was $203,571.45, with actual incurred expensed of $149,631.43. The estimated work for 2025 is $219,481.45, which brings the final contract value to $369,112.88. The prices for each of the tree trimming zones, because they are different sizes and have different tree canopies, are new for the work proposed in 2025. The unit costs for the remainder of the contract are unchanged from 2024. A copy of proposed Change Order No. 1 is attached.
Funding for scheduled tree trimming is budgeted in Forestry Contractual, Streets Contractual and EAB management. In rare instances, funding may come from Municipal State Aid or Federal Aid if the work is done in support of a street project funded by these sources.
