Resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with ISG and Braun Intertec to provide construction engineering services for the Bassett Drive Extension; Improvement Project 11188.

On March 10, 2025, the City Council approved a joint powers agreement between the State of Minnesota Department of Administration, Blue Earth County and the City of Mankato to cover design costs for the proposed extension of Bassett Drive.  On May 27, 2025, after holding a public hearing, the City Council approved the Bassett Drive Extension project and directed that the project be advertised and bids for construction received. As part of a separate Consent Calendar item on the August 25, 2025 agenda, a construction bid is proposed to be accepted for this project. Construction is anticipated to begin shortly thereafter. The work is expected to be substantially complete by the end of 2025, with final completion expected to be in early 2026.
 
In order to facilitate the construction of this project, staff recommend authorizing the City Manager to enter into a professional services agreement with ISG for construction services and Braun Intertec for material testing services for the Bassett Drive Extension project for the amount of $94,000 and $15,956 respectively.
