Report on project and Change Order 1 for Capital Improvement Project 11114; Germania Park Phase 5.

Summary:
In accordance with Section 2-8 of the Mankato City Code, the City Manager is to report as soon as practicable on change orders approved under $100,000. The following is a summary of change orders to date for 11114 – Germania Park Phase 5.
7th Avenue, Lind Street, and Cleveland Street
The contractor has completed the installation of the new underground utilities, new concrete curb and gutter, and the base lift of bituminous pavement for the portions of 7th Avenue, Lind Street, and Cleveland Street.
Change Order 1
Following the construction of Germania Park Phase 4, it was discovered there was a lack of drainage infrastructure in an area that would benefit from the proposed improvements to Germania Park Phase 5. As a result, a change order for Germania Park Phase 5 was proposed that includes a new storm sewer on Lind Street and extension of drainage infrastructure to Germania Park Phase 4. The change order work consists of new drainage pipe installed from the intersection of 7th Avenue & Lind Street to the middle of the block of 6th Avenue north of Lind Street. The value of the work is $53,080.30.
8th Avenue
The contractor is preparing to start work on 8th Avenue, which will begin with rock excavation for the new underground utilities.
The original contract value was $1,594,320.97 with total change orders to date of $53,080.30. The current contract value is $1,647,401.27.
