Motion approving contract amendment to Capital Improvement Project 11084; Victory Drive Signal and Lighting Improvements Project.

Motion approving contract amendment.
Summary:
In accordance with Section 2-8 of the Mankato City Code, the City Manager is to report as soon as practicable on additional work awarded on a unit price contract. The following is a summary of additional units of work for the 11084 – Victory Drive Signal and Lighting Improvements project.
During construction, it was identified that additional ADA improvements were required on the north side of the intersection of N Victory Drive and Hazeltine Road. The improvements consisted of concrete curb and gutter replacement, construction of new concrete ped ramps, and sidewalk reconstruction to control ADA compliance and integrate the new traffic signal control cabinet in the NE corner of the intersection. Other additional work consisted of expanded limits of bituminous trail replacement on the south side of the intersection to address existing deteriorated trail pavement.
The project is substantially complete and currently undergoing final inspection to conclude final completion and/or final punchlist.
The original contract value was $655,589.45. The current contract value is $666,089.49. The additional contract value is proposed to come from a contingency budgeted for the project.
