Resolution approving the MnDOT Airport Maintenance and Operations Grant Agreement.
Recommendation/Action(s):
Adoption of the attached resolution.
Summary:
The Airport Maintenance and Operations Grant supports the ability to provide an Airport for the use and benefit of the public.
Funds keep the grass area around the runway and associated lights mowed to a designated height and snow plowed during the winter months. Snowbanks are restricted to keep wings, engines, and propellers free from damage, and landing lights must remain visible. At least one runway is kept clear of snow and ice to the same priority as arterial roads. Periodic paint striping and seal coating maintenance projects of the runways and taxiways are also eligible.
MnDOT provides $85,933.09 each fiscal year to reimburse 75% of eligible costs incurred. Funds do not roll into the second fiscal year.
