Title
Review of the Commercial Rehabilitation Project for 509 S. Front St.

Request
The applicant is requesting the review of exterior improvements to the property located at 509 S. Front St.
Review
The HPC is being asked to review the proposed improvements to the building because the property owner would be utilizing EDA Levy funds through the commercial rehabilitation loan program.
The program guidelines state that HPC is to review to determine if the structure is historically significant.
The south side of the building previously had metal siding. Upon removing the siding, it was determined the existing brick had been damaged from a previous structure fire.
The contractor proposes to clean, secure, and seal the existing masonry. A new structure is proposed to be added along the top of the building to clean up the existing rooflines. Structural vertical and horizontal supports will be added along the building wall.
