***Site Plan and Traffic Advisory Committee Review Only. Request of Stacey Williams Realty on behalf of the Amano Driving School to add a new use, a driving school, at the property located at 2601 Adams Street.
Review
The applicant is intending to utilize the northern portion of the subject parcel located at 2601 Adams Street for the operation of a driving school.
The applicant's narrative outlines that they intend, "to utilize the north 2 acres only of the property for a CDL Driving School. The owner of the property is in agreement. The Department of Public Safety only requires that the school have 2+ acres of gravel surface to conduct the driving school business. The lot will be used for a driving range, particularly the semi-truck, trailer and school bus. New students will learn and practice parking maneuvers before moving to public roads."
The narrative further states that, "The school will use one school track, and it will be parked or placed in a lot, students use the school track for parking maneuvers twice a week. Each session lasts for 4 hours during normal working hours of five business days, the number of students per session is between 3 to 5 students. Restrooms are not necessary, but if needed, we can rent portable restrooms from local vendors."
