Resolution authorizing the City Manager to sign an agreement with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) for ongoing maintenance of the Veterans Bridge.
Recommendation/Action(s):
Adoption of the attached resolution.
Summary:
For many years, the City of Mankato and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) have had an agreement for routine maintenance of the Veteran's Memorial Bridge. Generally, MnDOT is responsible for the majority of maintenance/operations activities. The agreement outlines activities performed by the City of Mankato and how the cost of these activities is reimbursed to the City. The last agreement expired in June 2025.
Attached is a draft agreement that outlines the reimbursable activities to be performed by the City of Mankato. This new agreement covers 2026 and 2027. The cost of reimbursable items is anticipated to be approximately $8,500 per year.
