Resolution approving an addendum to the agreement for services beteween the City of Mankato and Mankato Area Public Schools for School Resource Officer (SRO) Services.
Recommendation/Action(s):
Adoption of the attached resolution.
Summary:
The City of Mankato and Mankato Area Public Schools (MAPS) entered into an Agreement for Services on December 9, 2024, for the provision of School Resource Officers. Since execution of that agreement, the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) has clarified statutory and model policy requirements for SRO programs, including required data practices language.
The attached addendum updates the agreement to ensure compliance with Minnesota Statute § 626.8482 and the POST Board School Resource Officer Model Policy, clarifies data-sharing practices, and updates SRO duties and expectations. The addendum also formalizes updated salary and cost information for SRO services for calendar years 2025 and 2026.
