Resolution receiving feasibility report, ordering improvement, preparation of plans and specifications, and ordering advertisement for bids for Capital Improvement Project 11207; Hiniker Pond Park Parking Lot.

The Hiniker Pond Park parking lot is located on the west end of Butterworth Street. The parking lot provides access to the playground and trails adjacent to Hiniker Pond Park. The parking lot pavement is deteriorated, and staff have identified that approximately 40% of the parking lot is not utilized. As approved in the 2026 City Budget and associated surface transportation projects, the parking lot is planned for reconstruction in 2026. Staff have been working with a consultant engineer, ISG, to determine different concept options to improve traffic flow through the parking lot and provide additional green space for future sidewalks, shelters, and picnic areas. Staff have identified their preferred concept after review of five options.
 
Construction Services is recommending the Council consider these improvements per the attached feasibility report, estimated costs, and funding sources noted below:
