Construction Services staff recommend installing a YIELD (R1?2) sign on the southbound approach of Trestle Trail at the intersection of Trestle Trail, Owatonna Street, and Sibley Parkway. If feasible, the sign should be added to the existing assembly; otherwise, a new support will be provided to ensure proper placement and visibility. This recommendation follows citizen concerns that only one of the four intersection approaches is currently controlled by a YIELD sign. Staff’s review confirmed that existing signage along Sibley Parkway establishes it as the through street and that other minor approaches—including an additional Trestle Trail access immediately west—are controlled by YIELD signs.
 
Adding a YIELD sign to this Trestle Trail approach will align it with the other minor approaches along Sibley Parkway, improving consistency, reinforcing driver expectations, and enhancing overall intersection safety given the existing traffic patterns.
