Local Designations 2026

Review

Local Designations for 2026:
  1. Hubbard Mill - Fisher Group is the owner. Does someone want to reach out to them? 
  2. The Depot - Fisher Group is the owner. 
    1. I reached out to their designer to see if they would be interested. They have a dedicated area for a historical marker. I have not heard back. 
  3. Kern Bridge - City of Mankato is the owner
    1. I reached out to SHPO. The bridge will be temporarily taken off the National Registry. Staff will reapply once the bridge is installed in its new location. 
    2. We have selected the bridge for our 2026 CLG Grant. Jeff, Jessica, and Brittany are working through the application. 
  4. Good Council - SWMNHP is the new owner. 
    1. Conversations have been occurring with the group about local designation. 
    2. We have selected Good Council as our preservation month location. We need to start planning that event. 
  5. The Post Office - Big Blue Hospitality is the owner. 
    1. Staff is sending the local designation form next week.
