Resolution considering bids on Capital Improvement Project 11100; Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center Arena Audio Replacement.

Summary:
Capital Improvement Project 11100; MCHS Event Center Hockey Arena Audiovisual System Improvements, was advertised for public bidding beginning on February 17th, 2026.
The work includes replacement of the main sound system speaker coverage, which includes six primary line array locations for east and west bleacher seating coverage. Each of these locations also includes a subwoofer and a full-range speaker rotated to cover the ice floor. Two entry zone speaker hanging positions provide coverage for the south end of the bleacher seating. Cabling between equipment rack location and speaker locations will be installed, terminated and tested.
One bid was submitted by a qualified contractor. The apparent low and only bidder is TouchDesign Automation, with a base bid of $444,458.38 and a bid for the alternates of $2,476.79 for a total bid of $446,935.17. Based on estimated pricing procured by staff prior to bidding, the bid does represent the present value of the work and rebidding will likely increase the cost.
Staff recommend awarding the bid and alternate #1 in the amount of $446,935.17. Funding will come from the Civic Center Capital Fund.
