City Council Regular Meeting
- Meeting Date:
- 04/13/2026
Agenda Item:
Motion approving On-sale Intoxicating, Sunday, and Non-enclosed Premise (patio) Liquor License renewals for Los Dos Primos Corp DBA Los Dos Primos effective May 1, 2026, through April 30, 2027.
Recommendation/Action(s):
Motion approving liquor license renewal.
Summary:
Under Chapter 3 of the Mankato City Code, liquor licenses are renewed on May 1 of each year. A renewal application has been submitted by Los Dos Primos Corp DBA Los Dos Primos. Background checks of all owners/applicants, managers and local contacts have been completed. A background investigation of all persons and premises described reveals nothing to preclude renewal of licenses.
Currently, Los Dos Primos has three strikes, two that were issued on May 1, 2025 ($1,500 civil penalty), and one that occurred on December 2, 2025 ($2,000 civil penalty) and seven-day suspension). The suspension is scheduled to occur April 13 through April 19, and there is a condition that if a fourth penalty is received before the expiration of the strikes at midnight on May 1, 2025, the license is revoked. Barring no further strikes, the renewal will take effect on May 1, 2026.
Approval of the liquor license renewal is contingent upon payment of license fees, property taxes, utility bills, and other financial claims of the city; in addition to liquor liability insurance and all documentation required under the Mankato City Code.
