Resolution accepting the Fiscal Year 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Award.
Recommendation/Action(s):
Adoption of the attached resolution.
Summary:
The City of Mankato has been awarded $14,649.00 under the Fiscal Year 2025 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.
The City Council previously authorized submission of the grant application and approved the Joint Agreement between the City of Mankato and Blue Earth County governing the distribution of grant funds. Under the Joint Agreement, the City of Mankato will receive $8,789.40 (60%) of the award and Blue Earth County will receive $5,859.60 (40%). The City's additional share reflects its responsibilities for grant administration, fiscal management, and reporting.
Acceptance of the grant awarded authorizes the city to execute the award and begin implementation of the grant. The Mankato Department of Public Safety and the Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office will utilize their respective portions of the grant for Justice Assistance Grant-approved projects intended to improve law enforcement operations, technology, and organizational efficiency.
