Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute a Toward Zero Deaths Grant Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Public Safety for traffic safety enforcement.

Adoption of the attached resolution.
Summary:
The City of Mankato, through the Mankato Department of Public Safety, has been awarded $35,300 in Toward Zero Deaths (TZD) traffic safety enforcement grant funding from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety, for the grant period of October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027.
The grant funds enhanced traffic safety enforcement and education efforts intended to reduce traffic-related deaths and serious injuries. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety requires a resolution of the governing body authorizing execution of the grant agreement. The resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute the agreement and any necessary amendments, and to serve as fiscal agent and administer the grant.
