Approval of School Board Facilitated Dialogue on Equity
Background:
At the June meeting, Board Chair Wacker indicated that the school district would seek resources to assist in improving School Board relations through a facilitated dialogue process. These efforts are part of the school district’s larger recommitment to equity work across the system.
All Board members have been provided the opportunity to review the proposal, the three part process we would pursue with Ms. Stacy Wells and the supporting activities both this Board and the new Board seated in January would commit to through the end of the 2020-2021 school year. This includes participation in a restorative practices process, examination of Board governance though an equity lens, and quarterly work sessions aligned to the school district’s equity framework.

Recommended Action:
