Overview of Letter of Agreement - Teacher Duty Day Start and End Time with Mankato Teachers Association

A tentative agreement between District 77 and the Mankato Teachers Association was reached in February 2020 to change the start and end times for the duty day of middle and high school teachers. Current contract language requires teachers to be in their buildings one-half (1/2) hour prior to the student start time. This letter of agreement changes the start of the duty day for middle school and high school teachers to be fifty (50) minutes prior to the student start time. The length of the teacher duty day for all teachers will continue to be seven (7) hours and fifty (50) minutes. As a part of this letter of agreement, building meetings for middle and high school teachers will be held in the mornings before the student start time. The conditions in this letter of agreement will be in effect for the 2020-2021 school year.
