COVID-19 Data Update
Background:
Mankato Area Public Schools reviews COVID-19 data on a daily basis. Additionally, the school district holds weekly meetings with two committees that provide community, county and state public health expertise. The MAPS Regional Support Team is a partnership with the Minnesota Department of Health, the Minnesota Department of Education, the South Central Service Cooperative and local public health officials to support us in navigating the impacts of COVID-19.
The second committee is the MAPS COVID Command Team. This group reviews Blue Earth and Nicollet County data, school district and individual school infection rates (students and staff) and makes recommendations on the current and future learning model for MAPS.
Given the ongoing and changing nature of COVID-19, school officials will provide the School Board with an update on COVID-19 data and trends as an information item on the agenda for the foreseeable future.
